Astro-Journeys presented at SciComPT 2025
Sara Anjos (NUCLIO) presenting Astro-Journeys at SciComPT2025

The Astro-Journeys project was presented in Portugal at the national conference for science communicators and informal science educators, SciComPT2025. Bringing together more than 170 professionals in science communication from 9 to 11 April 2025, in Funchal, Madeira, the conference focused on the theme of science communication as a bridge between centres and peripheries, promoting the inclusion of all regions and expanding access to scientific knowledge.

On 10 April, the session “Short Communications 4 | Science Outreach and Literacy” featured the presentation “Personalized Pathways in Astronomy with AI and Robotic Telescopes” by Sara Anjos (NUCLIO). The session highlighted innovative science communication strategies for young audiences, focusing on active participation in authentic scientific practices and the personalization of learning through generative artificial intelligence, robotic telescopes, and the Big Ideas in Astronomy.

The Astro-Journeys project was presented as a case study, illustrating how astronomy can be communicated in an accessible, immersive, and culturally relevant way, fostering scientific literacy and sustained engagement with science.
