What should citizens of Planet Earth know about the cosmos? The Big Ideas in Astronomy is an international project to create a definition of basic astronomy literacy. From the seasons and the phases of the moon to cosmology at the largest scale, Big Ideas in Astronomy comprehensively covers the core elements of astronomy. I will outline the current status of the Big Ideas in Astronomy project and how the Big Ideas provides an underlying structure for Astro-Journeys.

  • You will learn about the Big Ideas in Astronomy, how they fit into the Astro-Journeys project and how they are being linked to curricula across Europe.
